Symptoms:
The installation of Log Analytics Agent (aka: Microsoft Monitoring Agent or MMA agent) fails with error:
“The workspace key could not be validated. The error returned from the service was:
The workspace key could not be validated due to the local system time not matching the time in Azure. Please check that the local system time is accurate and the correct time zone is set….”
Resolution:
Note that the time difference is exactly 1 hour (as highlighted on the above screenshot)!
To work around the issue, change the time zone to another time zone within the same region, e.g.: from “(UTC + 01:00) Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris” switch to “(UTC + 01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Rome Stockholm, Vienna”, retry the installation, and upon successful competition, change the time zone back to the original one.
